Hey, I'm James. Welcome.
I run a local digital marketing agency by day and write this blog as a personal side project, pulling back the curtain on the online business world.
If you've spent more than ten minutes looking for ways to make some extra money online, you already know how exhausting the internet is right now. Every time I scroll through my feeds, I'm hit with another video of a twenty-something standing in front of a rented sports car, promising a "hidden AI loophole" or an "automated done-for-you store" that will apparently make you rich while you sleep.
I started this site because I got completely fed up with the noise.
For my actual day job, I run a small local digital marketing agency. Day in and day out, I work with real brick-and-mortar businesses - plumbers, roofers, local shops - helping them set up basic websites and get their phones to ring. It's unglamorous, steady, real-world work that relies on basic business principles.
This blog is just my personal notebook where I document what happens when I look into these flashy online courses and push-button software loops. Because I manage real marketing budgets for a living, I can usually spot the difference between a real business model and a total fantasy within about five minutes of looking at a sales pitch.
Most review blogs aren't actually looking into anything - they're just copy-pasting the sales page and trying to get you to click an affiliate link so they can collect a quick kickback. I wanted to build a place that does the exact opposite.
How I Look at This Stuff
When I'm checking out a new program or tool on the weekend, I don't care about shiny screenshots of $10,000 days. I treat it the same way I treat my agency clients' accounts: I look at the actual math.
I do the basic digging that most people don't have the time to do. I look up who is actually running the show behind the scenes - if the founder is a ghost with a fake stock photo, I'll call it out. I look at the real costs they hide in the fine print, like mandatory monthly upsells or massive required ad budgets that beginners can't afford. Basically, if I wouldn't tell my own brother to risk his hard-earned money on it, I'm going to tell you to keep your wallet closed.
Full Transparency on How This Site is Funded
Let's be entirely real: running a website costs money, and my time isn't free. But I refuse to play the standard affiliate game to fund this place.
You will not find a single third-party affiliate link, sponsored post, or guru referral code on this website.
If a program is a flat-out trap, a waste of time, or just heavily overhyped, I can tell you to stay far away with zero hesitation because I don't rely on those course creators or software vendors for a paycheck.
The only thing I promote on this website is my own work: my personal training program on building local lead-generation assets for local businesses. It's the exact, unhyped playbook that I use to service my own agency clients every single day.
Because my actual day job pays my mortgage, I don't need to squeeze my readers for software bounties. If you want to check out my playbook, great. If not, that's completely fine too. Either way, my primary loyalty will always be to the truth, not a commission code.
I write these articles exactly how I'd talk to a friend over a drink. No corporate jargon, no marketing fluff - just the straight reality based on what I find.
Thanks for stopping by.
